Frequently Asked Questions &
10-Year Warranty Guide
Straight answers from licensed contractors — dampness diagnosis, drying times, paint grades, fixed quotes and the written transferable warranty.
General & Project Process
How CoatCraft works from first call to final coats.
Call our estimating desk or submit the contact form. Within 48 hours we schedule a free on-site inspection with digital laser measurements and a moisture test. You receive an itemized fixed-price proposal, valid for 30 days, with no obligation.
A standard 3-bedroom interior repaint with surface prep takes 3 to 5 working days. Exterior weatherproofing takes 2 to 4 days depending on weather windows. Your exact schedule, including daily working hours, is written into the proposal before we start.
Every interior project includes complete masking protection: heavy canvas drop cloths or Ram Board armor on floors, airtight plastic over clustered furniture, and taped outlets and hardware. Surface prep uses HEPA dustless sanders that capture 99.7% of airborne dust at the point of origin, so you never return to a dusty home.
We use premium Zero-VOC and Low-VOC formulations from brands like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, so there are virtually no fumes. You can safely sleep in the room the same night. Paint dries to the touch in 2 hours and fully cures within 14 days.
Yes. We schedule commercial and office repaints around your occupancy — nights, weekends, and phased floor-by-floor. Site signage, dust barriers, and floor marking are included, and commercial projects carry the same 10-Year Workmanship Warranty.
Pricing & Quotes
Fixed numbers, itemised lines, zero surprises.
Yes, always. We never do vague verbal ballpark figures. After the free moisture inspection and laser measurement you receive an itemised proposal specifying prep steps, brand and grade of primer and topcoats, number of coats, schedule, and the exact fixed cost. No unexpected price increases after the contract is signed.
It is an indicative planning tool only. The firm price is confirmed after our free on-site inspection. If hidden rot or unusual substrate work is found, we show you the itemised reason and give you the option before any extra work happens — you always approve each line.
Standard preparation — cleaning, masking, sanding, spot-priming, and caulking — is included in every quote. Extensive substrate repairs such as plaster rebuilds or rot replacement are listed as a separate optional line item before we start, so you always know what is included.
Any change to scope is handled through a written Change Order signed by both parties before the additional work begins. The new cost is transparent, and the original fixed price for unchanged work still holds.
A 30% deposit secures your date. The balance is due after the final walk-through, once you have confirmed everything is perfect. We are fully licensed and insured for every project size.
Damp & Waterproofing
Diagnosing moisture before it claims another coat.
This is the hallmark of rising dampness or capillary action — ground moisture travels upward through porous masonry and drywall. Standard paint over this bubbles within 3 to 6 months. We strip the affected plaster, run moisture testing, inject a chemical damp-proof barrier, then apply an anti-efflorescence breathable primer before topcoats.
Standard exterior paint forms a thin decorative film of about 1 to 2 mils dry, which cracks as the building expands and contracts with temperature shifts. Elastomeric coatings are applied 10 times thicker (15 to 20 mils) with 300% to 500% elongation. They stretch across active hairline cracks like liquid rubber, forming a 100% barrier against driving rain.
Hairline cracks, chalking, and mild efflorescence can often be cured with proper prep and an elastomeric finish. Horizontal crack lines, damp patches that return within a season, moss, or flaking plaster usually mean active moisture and need a waterproof membrane plus a damp-proof course. Our free moisture diagnosis tells you which — before you pay for a single coat.
We first confirm and stop the source — roof, plumbing, or condensation — with our trusted trade partners where needed. We then remove the affected compound, treat any mould, coat with a stain-blocking anti-efflorescence primer, and apply two finish coats. That order is why our ceiling fixes do not bleed through.
Warranty & Support
The written promise behind every CoatCraft finish.
Our 10-Year Comprehensive Workmanship Warranty protects against peeling, flaking, blistering, premature fading, and water penetration on all surfaces coated by CoatCraft according to manufacturer specifications. If a covered defect arises, we repair it completely free of charge. The certificate is legally binding.
Yes. The warranty is transferable to the new owner within 90 days of the property change with a one-page transfer form and a copy of the certificate — no fee. It is a genuine resale point, not a guarded clause.
Call the warranty hotline or use your client portal. Send a few photos, and we schedule a site revisit within 7 days. If the defect is covered, the repair is free and documented in your portal for future reference.
Repainting or repointing by another contractor, structural alteration of coated walls, or damage from flooding or external impact voids coverage for the affected areas. Normal wear, cosmetic cracking beyond control, and intentional damage are not covered — everything else is.
